William Miller's I Was Born In Hoboken: Memories of the 1950s and '60s. We're already at work on the next book project. William Miller, who wrote On the Waterfront: The Great Ships of Hoboken, among many other books, has been hard at work researching stories of Hoboken in its glory days as a blue-collar stronghold in the 1950s and '60s, when the docks and factories were bustling, families could work their way up the economic ladder, and Hoboken was a fairly close-knit community. In addition to interviews and research, the book will be illustrated with photos from those two decades.

If you have any photos depicting typical scenes of life in Hoboken then, please contact Bob Foster at the Museum, at (201) 656-2240 option 8, or rfoster@hobokenmuseum.org. The project will be partially funded by donations, and members will receive an appeal in the mail shortly. Donors will be thanked with their names printed in the book, and will receive a free copy of the book at the book launch party.
