On The Waterfront, 1958 - 1989: The Photographs of Donald "Red" Barrett

red_barrett.jpg (31231 bytes)Retired longshoreman Donald "Red" Barrett has been photographing the NY/NJ working waterfront for nearly fifty years. In this e-exhibit we share a sample of the photographs Red took of the NJ waterfront. The picture at left shows stevedores unloading hot peppers from a ship berthed at Hoboken's Pier A in 1978. Pier A is now one of Hoboken's newest and most beautiful parks. Thanks for the wonderful pictures, Red!
