Storytime at the Fire Dept. Museum, First Sundays at noon!

March 5, 2017 • 12pm

Location: Fire Department Museum, 213 Bloomfield

Thanks to the generous support of the Hoboken Family Alliance and Party with Purpose, the Museum host a monthly Storytime program at the Fire Department Museum, at 213 Bloomfield St. We invite children between the ages of 2 and 5 years to join us downtown on the first Sunday of each month, at noon. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. No reservation required, but it is recommended to arrive early to secure a good spot.

WWI Author Talk: Christopher Capozzola, “Uncle Sam Wants You: World War I and the Making of the Modern American Citizen.”

Our WWI lecture series, "Heaven, Hell or Hoboken," resumes on March 12, at 4 pm, with a talk by professor Christopher Capozzola on “Uncle Sam Wants You: World War I and the Making of the Modern American Citizen.” Dr. Capozzola teaches courses in political and legal history, war and the military, and the history of international migration at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The author of “Uncle Sam Wants You: World War I and the Making of the Modern American Citizen” (Oxford University Press, June 2008), Dr. Capozzola specializes in the political and cultural history of the United States from the late nineteenth century to the present. He graduated from Harvard College and completed his Ph.D. at Columbia University in 2002 Click here to learn more about the series.

WWI Reading Discussion Group

The Hoboken Historical Museum is pleased to debut a new companion reading group to accompany our WWI lecture series, "Heaven, Hell or Hoboken." Anyone interested in reading books and essays about World War I and then discussing them with fellow readers is invited to join us on Sunday, March 12, at 5:30 pm, after the lecture by professor Christopher Capozzola.
