Walking Tours: Local History & Architecture
Grades: all*, 60-90 minutes
*Tours can be tailored to fit individual classes and grade levels. Offered in summer, fall and spring.
This tour focuses on the link between local architecture and history. After first using their visual skills to discover architectural elements in photographs, students will then identify and discuss the actual buildings’ elements and additional features in a neighborhood walk. Students will explore how various buildings reflect our local history, and the way our community has preserved them throughout time.
