Artist Talk with Paul Andrejco

September 6, 2023 @ 12:00 am

Please join us on Friday, September 15 at 7pm for an Artist Talk when Paul Andrejco is interviewed by Museum Director Bob Foster. Paul Andrejco is the creative mind behind the upcoming exhibit “The Heap,” which is co-sponsored with the Hoboken Business Alliance.

Paul graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in Illustration and began his career with the Jim Henson Company in New York. He developed numerous characters as part of his portfolio, including Big Mean Carl, Joe the Armadillo, and the entire cast of Bear in the Big Blue House. As the founder of the Puppet Heap design studio, he and his staff members develop characters for The Walt Disney Company, Nickelodeon, Sesame Workshop, BBC, and many more.

Paul continues to create his own original characters, and is pleased to be sharing The Heap with all of Hoboken. The Heap is an elderly, eccentric gentleman who collects things on his back, representing anxieties, trauma, and memories. In fact, the entire town of Spudbottom can be found there! Paul states: “I guess this installation is about all the things we accumulate over the course of a lifetime and what it takes to let those things go when the time comes.”

We look forward to learning about Paul’s creative process and how the city of Hoboken has shaped this innovative exhibit. The Opening Reception for The Heap will take place on Sunday, September 24, 2023 from 2pm-5pm at the Hoboken Historical Museum.
