Hoboken House Tour

April 20, 2019 @ 12:00 am

Historic or mod, Hoboken’s homes have an individual style. See 9 beautiful brownstones and condos, plus several intriguing points of interest, including a professional sign design studio, a furniture shop, and a spacious new indoor game center, in this annual rite of fall.

The 33rd Annual Hoboken House Tour on Sunday, October 20, will feature a fresh crop of homes and condos graciously opened to visitors by Museum supporters to help us raise funds. This event has sold out in years past, so don’t wait too late to secure your ticket — it’s a great time for a great cause: keeping Hoboken’s history alive for future generations.

Visit the Museum, 1301 Hudson St., or the Fire Dept. Museum, 213 Bloomfield St., to purchase tickets on the day of the tour. $50, or $40 for members. All proceeds go to support the Museum’s operations.

Every year, the tour offers a fresh selection of traditional and contemporary homes and condos furnished in a wide range of styles. From turn-of-the century craftsmanship to the beautiful views from a waterfront loft apartment, the tour allows Hoboken to show off its eclectic array of home spaces. Some homes display a designer’s touch; others feature the unique tastes and collections of the homeowners.

Watch a highlight reel from 2016!

Details: The self-guided tour takes about 2 to 3 hours on foot. Houses open at 10 a.m. and close at 4 p.m.  Homes may be visited in any order. A map will be included in the House Tour booklet, available only on the day of the tour. Arrive no later than 2 pm if you intend to visit most of the homes. The tour is not recommended for children under age 12. Tickets will not be sold after 2 pm.

On the day of tour, booklets may be picked up either at the Hoboken Museum, 1301 Hudson, or the Fire Department Museum, 213 Bloomfield St. All proceeds support the Hoboken Historical Museum’s programs and operations.

We need a few more volunteers to help out on the day of the tour. If you have 3.5 hours to donate to the Museum by serving as a greeter in one of the homes, either 9:30 am – 1 pm or 12:30 – 4 pm, we’ll thank you by giving you a free ticket to take the tour on the off-shift. Stop by the Museum to learn more.
